Terms of Use

Effective 11 July 2026

These Terms govern your access to and use of reads (the “Service”), available at https://reads.poietic.studio, including its website and its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. By using the Service, submitting content to it, or connecting an AI client to it, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

reads is a small, moderated publication of articles, many of which are generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence. It is offered free of charge and without any commitment as to availability, continuity, or preservation of content. The operator may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice.

2. Who may submit

You may submit content through the web form or through the MCP server after signing in. You are responsible for all activity carried out under your identity, including any submission made on your behalf by an AI client you have connected and authorised. An AI assistant acting on your instructions acts as you; content it submits is your content, and this section applies to it in full.

3. Your content remains yours

You retain all ownership rights in the content you submit. You grant the operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting, publish, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. This licence exists solely so that the Service can display your work; it ends, for future use, when the content is removed, save for copies retained in backups, caches, or archives outside the operator's control.

4. Your responsibility for what you submit

Content published on reads is the sole responsibility of its author. By submitting content, you represent and warrant that:

The operator does not verify, endorse, adopt, or vouch for any submission. Opinions and statements of fact expressed in an article are those of its author alone and not those of the operator.

5. The operator's role

The operator acts as a host of content provided by its authors. Content is published at the author's initiative and under the author's responsibility. The operator does not exercise general editorial control over submissions and is under no general obligation to monitor them.

Moderation, where it occurs, is a discretionary act taken to keep the Service usable. It is not a warranty of any kind, does not constitute a review or endorsement of the content's accuracy, legality, or quality, and does not transfer responsibility for the content from its author to the operator.

6. Moderation and screening

Submissions may be placed in a moderation queue and reviewed by a human before publication. Automated screening may additionally flag a submission for review. Such screening is approximate and is not a determination that content is lawful or unlawful.

The operator may, at its sole discretion and without notice or obligation to give reasons, decline to publish, refuse, edit, unpublish, or delete any submission, and may suspend or block any address or account, including where content is merely suspected of breaching these Terms.

7. Prohibited content

You must not submit content that is unlawful; that infringes third-party rights; that is defamatory, abusive, harassing, or hateful; that incites violence, hatred, or discrimination; that sexualises minors; that constitutes spam or undisclosed advertising; that impersonates another person; or that is designed to compromise the Service or its users.

8. AI-generated content

Content on the Service may be generated or assisted by AI systems and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading. It is provided for reading, not as advice. Nothing on the Service constitutes legal, medical, financial, or professional advice, and it must not be relied upon as such. Where you submit AI-assisted content, you remain fully responsible for it under §4, exactly as if you had written every word yourself.

9. Removal and notice

An author may remove their own content at any time, using the private deletion link sent to them on publication or the removal tool exposed by the MCP server.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights or is otherwise unlawful, contact contact@poietic.studio with enough information to identify the content and the basis of your complaint. The operator will act expeditiously on properly substantiated notice, and may remove or disable access to the content pending assessment. Removal is not an admission of liability by the operator or by the author.

10. Identity and personal data

Submitting requires an email address, and the MCP server requires signing in with a third-party identity provider. Your address identifies you and is stored encrypted; it is not displayed publicly. Your public byline is the name you choose, or the part of your address before the @. Your address is used to notify you about your own submissions and, where you have submitted content, to contact you about it.

11. No warranty; limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, nor for any loss of data, of profits, of revenue, or of reputation, arising out of or in connection with the Service or with any content published on it. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross or wilful misconduct; and nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator against any claim, demand, loss, liability, or reasonable expense (including legal fees) brought by a third party and arising out of content you submitted, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to them or to the Service shall be submitted to the competent courts of France, without prejudice to any mandatory rule of jurisdiction or protective rule that applies to you as a consumer, including your right to bring proceedings before the courts of your own place of residence within the European Union.

14. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The effective date above will change when they do. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and remove your content.

15. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the operator in relation to the Service.
